𝑼𝑯𝑴 interview with actress Latasha Pippen!

Welcome, Latasha! We’re excited to have the opportunity to speak with you.

Can you take us back to the moment you first discovered your love for acting and what initially drew you to the craft?

It was 8 mile the movie because I love Eminem, so I became a paid extra! That experience showed me how real and electric being on set felt, and I knew I wanted to be part of that world. It sparked a curiosity that quickly turned into a passion I wanted to pursue seriously.

Detroit has such a rich cultural and artistic history. How did growing up there shape your creativity and influence the way you approach acting today?

My Dad wrote songs for Motown groups so I learned to love my culture and embrace everything! Growing up around that level of artistry gave me a deep respect for storytelling and expression. It also taught me to bring authenticity and soul into every role I take on.

Breaking into Hollywood can be both exciting and challenging. As an emerging actress, what have been some of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned so far in navigating the industry?

I learned to just network with everyone, you never know you’re talking to! Literally my Uber driver helped me book a pilot. It taught me that opportunities can come from the most unexpected places. Staying open and genuine has been one of my biggest advantages.

Success in the early stages of any career often requires tremendous discipline and focus. What daily habits or practices help you stay grounded and committed to your craft?

Prayer, meditation and manifestation. I also make time to visualize my goals and stay aligned with what I’m working toward. Consistency in those practices helps me stay centered no matter what’s happening around me.

Having worked in films like Whip It! and Christmas Angel, etc., which are amazing, looking ahead, what creative goals or projects are on your vision board for the next chapter of your journey?

I would love to book a recurring role on a TV show, and continue to film more vertical short films! I’m also interested in exploring more dynamic characters that challenge me as an actress. Ultimately, I want to build a body of work that shows range and longevity.

How do you prioritize self-care in your daily life to protect your peace, energy, and overall mental well-being?

I force myself to take a day off to get a manicure, pedicure, massage, and facial! It’s important for me to reset and recharge so I don’t burn out. Taking that time helps me show up better both personally and professionally.

Thank you so much, Latasha!
