Welcome, Logan! It’s a pleasure to have you with us. How are you today?

Hii, thank you so much for having me. I’m doing well.

What inspired you to establish Glossy Cosmetics Co., and what motivated you to pursue this venture?

I actually started Glossy in the 6th grade and I really wanted to start my own business. It’s crazy I was just sitting and scrolling on my phone, and then the thought dropped on me. I started doing research, and then I came across lip gloss and fell in love with it. Glossy really picked up my freshman year of high school, and I was a cosmetology magnet, so when I was applying for the magnet program, I just had the feeling that I was going to really take my business seriously, so picking cosmetology just put everything in perspective for me. Honestly, I’ve always been surrounded by beauty. I have a family full of girls. My aunt is the person who made me a great sales person. She would let me come out to vending events with her and have me help her sell polymer clay figurines.

Can you tell us about the products and services you offer? How do you incorporate scientific principles into your approach to beauty and skincare?

At Glossy Cosmetics Company, beauty isn’t just applied—it’s created and understood. We formulate every product in-house, including lip gloss, chapstick, eyelash serum, lip scrub, beard balm, beard oil, and even a pet care product. With two new product launches on the way, Glossy continues to grow and innovate— so stay tuned.

What truly sets Glossy apart is our mobile experience. Through The Glossy Lab and Glossy Chic Retreat, we bring hands-on beauty education directly to the community in our signature hot pink trailer.

Participants (our “Gloss Fam”) don’t just make lip gloss—they create their own personalized formula while learning the science behind cosmetic formulation and ingredient selection.

At Glossy, we serve a wide range of ages while blending STEM education and self-care into one empowering experience. Because at Glossy Cosmetics Company, science is beautiful.

Please share more about The Glossy Lab STEM experience. How is this initiative integrated into your brand and mission?

For the mobile component of Glossy, I created two unique branches: The Glossy Lab STEM Experience and The Glossy Chic Retreat.

Through The Glossy Lab STEM Experience, I teach the science behind cosmetic formulation and help participants understand exactly what goes into the makeup products we use every day. We explore the chemistry behind ingredients—how oils, pigments, preservatives, and emollients work together to create texture, shine, stability, and performance. I break down complex scientific concepts into fun, hands-on lessons so young girls can see that science isn’t intimidating— it’s creative, powerful, and exciting.

My goal with The Glossy Lab is to show young girls that chemistry is more than equations in a textbook. It’s the reason their lip gloss shines, their balm smooths, and their products last. By connecting science to something they already love—beauty—I help them see that STEM is not only important but also creative and beautiful.

The Glossy Chic Retreat offers a different kind of experience. Designed for teenagers and adults, it provides a space to unwind, connect, and have fun while creating a custom lip gloss. It’s a moment of self-care mixed with creativity and community. Guests leave not only with a product they made themselves, but with a deeper appreciation for what goes into it.

Entrepreneurship often comes with both rewards and challenges. What has your journey been like so far, and how have you navigated and overcome any obstacles along the way?

I’ve had many ups and downs so far. I’ve learned that it’s not about what happens to you, but how you come back from it instead of letting it define you. I’ve also realized that it truly takes a village to run a successful business, because doing everything on your own can be overwhelming.

Being an entrepreneur is not for the weak. It can take a large toll on you, but you have to genuinely have passion for what you’re building and creating. As a young entrepreneur, I’ve learned many life and business lessons at an early age. Those lessons have shaped me into the business owner I am today.

There are moments when I feel like I should be further along than I am, but I have to remind myself that I’m still 17 years old, about to turn 18, navigating this world and taking it day by day. I’m also working through personal growth behind the scenes. Through it all, God has kept me grounded over these past few years of running my business—and I know I can’t look back.

When you’re not working, how do you practice self-care and support your mental well-being?

This is something I’ve recently been more intentional about. Over the past few years, I realized that while I’m constantly working and staying busy, I wasn’t always taking time for myself or investing in the hobbies I enjoy.

Now, I make self-care a priority. I work out with my trainer and attend therapy to support my mental well-being. I also enjoy simple things that help me relax, like watching Disney movies and some of my favorite shows. Spending time with friends when I can and indulging in a little retail therapy also helps me recharge.

Thank you so much, Logan!
