Welcome, Angela, and how are you doing?

I’m blessed and grateful, thank you!

Let’s talk about your business, Flyawaywithmi Travel Agency! When did your love for traveling develop, and what is the inspiration behind why you started this particular business?

I’ve loved traveling since I was a kid. My family would take trips to Florida and other states, and those early experiences planted a seed in me. But my true love for international travel began when I visited The Bahamas and Jamaica for the first time. I saw people who looked like me but lived with different customs and cultures. I experienced their food, their music, their blue waters, and white sand beaches—it opened my eyes to the beauty of God’s creation.

God placed this business on my heart. I believe He called me to help others see the world He created—to experience it, appreciate it, and be inspired by it. Traveling is not just about vacations; it’s about expanding your perspective and seeing the artistry of God in people, places, and cultures.

What services do you offer?

Flyawaywithmi Travel Agency helps people plan stress-free vacations, from flights to accommodations and excursions. Whether it’s cruises, all-inclusive resorts, destination weddings, or family getaways, I make the process simple so my clients can focus on making memories.

I love that you have a swimwear brand as well, which pairs with traveling! Yesss and yes, Queen! Tell us more about that!

Yes! I launched my swimsuit brand after a dream God gave me one night. It started with swimwear, but I plan to expand into more clothing in the future. My dad is an entrepreneur and my mom used to design her own clothes when she was younger, so I like to think I inherited their creativity and drive. I wanted to create something that pairs perfectly with travel—a brand that makes women feel confident, beautiful, and ready for the beach or pool.

I understand that you are quite the seasoned traveler. Where are some places you’ve been?

I’ve been blessed to travel to The Bahamas, Jamaica, Bali, Aruba, different parts of Mexico, Turks and Caicos, Curacao, as well as explore many states across the U.S. Each destination has taught me something new about life and faith.

Why do you feel it’s imperative for people to see different parts of the world to experience a variety of cultures?

Seeing other cultures helps you appreciate life more and everything God has blessed you with. In many places, people move slower, value patience, and focus on relationships over rushing. For example, in the Caribbean, service may not be as fast as in the States—but that’s because they take time to enjoy the moment. That shift in perspective is powerful. It reminds you to slow down and be present.

Out of all the places you’ve traveled to thus far, which place was your most memorable, and why?

Bali, without question. The people there are so loving, family-oriented, and deeply connected to their community. They live out the biblical principle, “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” They protect their villages and support each other in a way you rarely see in the States. Their sense of unity inspired me, and I’ve brought that same mindset into my own family and friend circle.

When it comes to food, so far, which place do you feel has the best food?

Jamaica! The seasoning, the freshness, and the way they prepare their dishes—it’s unmatched. Every bite feels like home.

When you’re not traveling, what are some other ways you practice self-care?

I love spending quiet time with God, reading, journaling, and enjoying time with my family. It keeps me grounded. I also love working out. Going to Solidcore is one of my favorites.

Thank you so much, Angela!
