Where are you from?
I’m originally from Port Arthur, TX, but I moved to Houston, TX, at the age of 15.
What led you on the journey to becoming an actor?
Well, I had a podcast before I got into acting, and the producer of my podcast at the time said I should get into acting because it could help get my face out there more. He said he was shooting a film later that year about 3 bestfriends and once the writer was doing a casting, he would tell me about it so I could audition. I auditioned, got a role, and the rest is history.
I’ve watched some of the movies you were in, and you are so great!!! Let’s talk about the film “Justice.” Tell us about this movie, the role you portray as “Raquel,” and how you prepared for this role.
Ommggg, this role was something else. And to be honest, I was actually sick one day of filming and couldn’t even remember my lines. It was definitely a challenge. I actually had the script in front of me when we did the scene at the table with me and Angeleah Speights. I kept looking down in the scene, but you never knew I was looking at the script. But I knew this mom had to be jealous and bitter. I have an adult daughter, so I just acted how I would towards her if this was real life.
I’ve been a fan of you and your work, and seeing you step into acting, turn your dreams into reality, and excel is truly inspiring. Often times, we only see the finished product and not the work that it took and continues to take when one is successful in whatever field they choose to pursue. What has that journey been like for you since you arrived where you are currently on your path?
This journey has been amazing. In the film industry, it can be “cliqued up” a lot of times. I went to a city I was new in (Detroit) and had the opportunity to work with whoever I wanted because I had no loyalty to no one there. I was open to work with everyone there and create new experiences based off my judgment and no one else’s. So it was a hustle once I got to Detroit because the jobs were there and I wanted them! I’m big on networking and marketing as well, so using the power of social media really got me this far.
I see how hard you work in regards to what you’ve shared. Putting yourself out there, taking chances, and networking. How imperative is networking and putting that hard work in from the start?
It is VERY important to network. I can’t stress that enough. I actually just created an e-book called “The Fancyprint”. It’s basically my “blueprint” showing aspiring actors how I secure these jobs through social media by networking. I literally show them step by step on everything I did to get this far. The accessibility to people today on social media is like no other. Networking has definitely gotten me this far with my career. You have to make yourself stand out. As they say, closed mouths don’t get fed.
As you continue to evolve in the world of acting, what are some dream roles you wish to portray in the future? Let’s claim it right now!!
My dream role is to play a famous artist. She’s fashionable, super popular, but has a dark side that absolutely nobody knows about. My other dream role is to play Lisa Raye in her biopic. People have been comparing me to her for years.
When you’re not busy, how are you practicing self-care?
Well, I try to eat clean as much as I can because once I’m on these sets, I’m snacking away like crazy. I talk to God a lot. Like alot alot! I journal to God as much as I can because if it wasn’t for him, I would not have gotten this far.
What upcoming projects are you working on that we should look out for?
Well, I moved to Detroit in May 2023, then moved to Atlanta in May 2024. I’m grateful that Detroit is still checking for me even though I left. So I’m headed back to Detroit soon to film a series by Ron Elliott called “Vindicated”. I play a Madame in this role, so it should be fun. Then I will head back to Atlanta to film with Lisa Brown, the creator of “The Dirty D”, who is also from Detroit and is now producing a series out of Atlanta called “The Dirty A”. I’m very excited about this role. I can’t say too much about it because Miss Lisa Brown likes to keep her stuff on the hush till it comes out, and I want to keep this job! Lol

I created these Facebook groups to help aspiring actors get to where I’m at. Once they have a little experience, then I add them to the group for established talent. That way they can connect with producers, directors, and other established actors.
Before you go, drop a gem or some great advice for our readers out there. Feel free to say whatever compels you. I like to call this section Unpacking Her Thoughts. Let them know, Queen!
Again, NETWORKING IS KEY! If I didn’t network and market myself like crazy, I would have never gotten this far. You can’t say you want something and don’t put the work in to get it. Time waits on NOBODY. I up and left my city to go on a journey that I had no clue what was going to happen. I moved to another state with just my dog and 3 suitcases. We stayed in a hotel for a couple of months, and I realized Detroit was for me, and I made the right decision. You have to go and get IT because IT won’t come and get you. I’m proof! So go follow those dreams and make them happen because I’m no better than the next person. If I can do this, so can YOU!
Thank you so much, Fancy!
