Her memoir courageously recounts her early childhood, offering solace to those navigating abuse, while inspiring faith and resilience as paths to a brighter future. Despite early challenges, Precious embraced motherhood and raised two daughters who both graduated amidst the pandemic despite homelessness, a story highlighted 3 times in the Wall Street Journal.

Amidst profound personal transformations, Precious ascended as an HR Specialist, amassing over a decade of expertise in the field. Today, she leads HR Boutique, a pinnacle of her career, providing transformative HR Consulting, Coaching, and Training services. Recognized as a DC Dress for Success Ambassador and featured in Lane Bryant’s Fall collection, Precious is a sought-after speaker, empowering audiences with strategies to persevere in adversity.

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Jeffersonville, Indiana, I moved to Louisville, KY, during elementary school and moved to the DMV in May of 2015 to start a new life after a difficult childhood. 

Tell us about your business HR Boutique and Business Services, what you do, and the story behind why you started this business.

HR Boutique and Business Services is an employment firm that provides top-tier HR solutions in staffing, organizational development, and employee relations. We specialize in creating comprehensive HR systems, highlighting other businesses, and developing programs to work with the youth on workplace readiness. I started this business because I saw a need for personalized, high-quality HR services that go beyond the traditional offerings. My passion for helping businesses thrive and my extensive experience in HR management inspired me to create a company that truly understands and meets the unique needs of each client.

What has the entrepreneurial journey been like for you thus far?

The entrepreneurial journey has been incredibly rewarding and challenging. It has pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. I’ve faced obstacles, but each challenge has taught me valuable lessons and strengthened my resolve. The support from my network, the satisfaction of helping clients achieve their goals, and the ability to create meaningful change in the HR landscape have made this journey worthwhile.

When you’re not busy, how are you practicing self-care?

When I’m not busy, I practice self-care by listening to music, spending time with loved ones, and engaging in activities that bring me joy and relaxation. I also make time for physical exercise and mindfulness practices to maintain my mental and physical well-being.

When it comes to women and our women’s community, what would you like to see more of?

I would like to see more support and collaboration among women in our community. We should uplift each other, share resources, and celebrate each other’s successes. Encouraging mentorship and creating opportunities for women to grow and succeed in their personal and professional lives is something I’m very passionate about.
