I would like to introduce you all to Ashley Edwards! She is the CEO and host of the Flow Life Podcast! She also created a comprehensive platform for stay-at-home moms and provides support for moms who also homeschool, just like her. Recently, I received the opportunity to interview her! Check it out below!
Where are you from?
I’m from Atlanta, Georgia.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I always knew that I was born for something more. As a kid, I would pretend I had my own cleaning business. I wasn’t taught that being an entrepreneur was an actual goal to achieve. I was taught to go to college, get a degree, and to make a career out of it. In my junior year of college, I had enough of listening to my parents and other people’s opinions on what I should do with my life. I had a great job that I worked so hard for in the healthcare field, but I quickly learned through my 10+ years that wellness is not a priority in this world. My journey into entrepreneurship was originally driven by a unique combination of my personal interests, innovative thinking, and the aspiration to make a positive difference in the lives of others. This led me down the path of becoming an entrepreneur, which birthed my own business and gave me a new purpose in creating my own legacy.
Tell us about the work that you do, and what’s your why?
I am the CEO and host of the Flow Life Podcast, which is a self-improvement podcast. I have a unique platform where I share valuable insights and philosophical knowledge with my listeners. My podcast serves as a source of “life”. I provide a holistic approach that ties into nature’s constantly evolving ways and how we can learn and adapt to the many changes we endure, starting from the root.
I share a unique blend of guidance and spirituality. I love creating a safe space for listeners to grow personally, reflect on their beliefs, and find inspiration in their pursuit of a better life. My goal is to provide thought-provoking conversations for those seeking motivation for personal growth and self-improvement. I also sell merch!
In 2023, I created a comprehensive platform for stay-at-home moms and provided support for moms who also homeschool, like myself. My focus is always on “personal growth”. There is no one-size-fits-all. We are all unique and amazing, and I created a navigational system for moms from all backgrounds to help them thrive and gain confidence in life and motherhood.
My WHY was found in my PURPOSE! My mantra from my podcast and how I apply it in all areas of my life is to “Discover your purpose through God’s lens.” This is why I speak life and help guide a pathway of self-awareness for others. Sometimes we think we have our lives planned out, but God always has bigger and better plans for our lives if we trust him and allow him access. He will do a whole 360 and place you in rooms you’ve never even imagined!
I understand that there is a responsibility and the importance of paying it forward. Inspiring others is the catalyst that empowers individuals to pursue their own dreams and overcome their own personal challenges. By passing it on, I empower others to believe in themselves and their potential.
I truly believe that passing on the same inspiration I received from someone else is an essential way to create a positive and empowering cycle of motivation, personal growth, and support that this world needs. It enables us to build a strong, united world where individuals uplift and encourage one another, ultimately leading to positive change and a positive, lasting impact for future generations to come.
What challenges have you been met with while maneuvering entrepreneurship, and how did you overcome?
Challenges, a bunch! But they have turned into amazing life lessons that God intended for me to experience. These experiences were a part of the process for my journey, which made me into the strong, compassionate, understanding, and resilient woman I am today. I think the major challenge I’ve had to face is managing stress. Entrepreneurship can be demanding and stressful. I had to unlearn A LOT and relearn that practicing self-care, maintaining a work-life balance, and seeking support from mentors, fellow entrepreneurs, and therapists can help manage stress.
In those moments when it gets hard, how do you manage to keep going?
I go to God for everything! God gives me the strength I need. God allows me to reconnect with my purpose and take a pause. Most times, I go for walks in nature and use scriptures and jazz music to get me back on track. This helps me stay flexible and adaptable because the entrepreneurial journey is filled with uncertainty and constant change. With God’s help, I’ve learned to stay open to adapting my plans and strategies as needed, which has allowed me to be willing to pivot when circumstances demand it.
Most importantly, I have to take breaks and recharge. I learned that it’s okay to take breaks when I feel overwhelmed or burnt out. Stepping away from the situation temporarily provides me with renewed energy and a fresh perspective.
When it comes to women and our women’s community, what would you like to see more of?
I think there are some amazing things going on in this day and age with our women’s community. The mainstream media is just saturated with so much toxicity and superficial false narratives. I would love for all the amazing and positive things going on in our women’s community to be at the forefront, but I will try and do my part to be part of the positive change I want to see. I would love to see more genuine empowerment, diversity and inclusivity, mental health support, collaboration and networking, positive role models, a safe and judgment-free space, mentorships and support, and most importantly, celebrating other women’s achievements. There is enough space for us all : ) I respect and admire what you are doing with your platform, and I’m so honored to have this space with you! Keep up the amazing work!
