Making BOSS Moves with Carolyn!

I would like to introduce you all to Carolyn Hayes! She is the CEO and founder of Carolyn Hayes Consulting. She is the CEO and founder of the “She Got Up” movement. She is a Certified Master Life Coach. Recently, I received the opportunity to interview her! Check it out below!

What’s the name of your business, and what does it entail?

My business is Carolyn Hayes Consulting. In addition, I am the CEO and Founder of the “She Got Up” movement. I am also a Certified Master Life Coach. I help the broken, overlooked, and unheard women who are ready to give up and ready to shift into being healed, feeling confident and worthy, knowing their purpose, and motivated to move forward by landscaping the mind and cultivating Faith so they can step into their purpose while dominating the earth.

What’s the story or inspiration behind why you started your business?

My business’s official launch date is Tuesday, August 2nd. This was God’s purpose for my life. I wanted to be a nurse and went to nursing school, which I finished in 2003. But I could never pass the state board exam to get licensed, so I gave up after testing six times. But God brought me back to remember the very first thing I went to school for back in 1992, right after I graduated High school. I started going to school at a community college for Business Administration. I have no idea why I chose business, but all that time, God knew.

I started going, and in 1993, I had my first child. There were days when my mom did not want to keep the baby for me in order for me to go to school or allow me to use the car, so I was missing days. Some days, I brought Dymond (my oldest daughter) to school with me. The guidance counselor knew what was going on, so she would keep Dymond in the office with her so I could take my tests and then leave. Of course, you can’t bring babies to college with you, but I did. Eventually, after having my second child, I had to quit. When I got help from their grandmother on their father’s side with keeping them, I ended up getting an office system certification from another local community college, and then I started working in the medical field as a CNA. I had a heart for people and was very empathetic. Not knowing that everything I had gone through from childhood to adulthood was what God was using for me to help others. I didn’t understand it until 2019, when he started surrounding me with other Life Coaches. In 2020, I got my certifications completed and started having health issues, so I ended up setting everything aside.

In 2022, God started putting Business school back in my mind. That part of my life I tried to block out because of what I went through, but God was using that as a part of my story for His Glory! I said, “God, I want to be a nurse. That was my dream.” He said to me, “When you went to business school back in 1992 and didn’t know why you chose that, it was me placing that in you; nursing was what everyone else said you would be good at. It was setting the foundation in you for having care, compassion, and empathy for others, which is what you need in order to help others on their journey.” So at that point, I understood the assignment that God gave me more clearly, knowing what I had to do.

The “She Got Up” movement is what God gave me to help women get up the way he helped me get up from depression when I was going through all the health issues. God asked me during a time of prayer and fasting if I trusted Him or the health issues, and it was at that moment when He told me to get up, and “She (me) Got Up”! And those words kept playing in my mind over and over, and that’s how She Got Up was born. Through my group coaching program, I want to help other women get up from whatever it is they need to get up from, whether it’s brokenness, divorce, old friendships, or whatever it is. That’s my goal to help them heal.

Since you’ve been on your entrepreneurial journey, What has your experience been like thus far?

My experiences have been such a blessing! Since the start of my posting about becoming a Coach and even getting back into school, which I did in February to complete my Business degree, I have been getting so much support. I am very excited about the official launch date and excited to see where God is going to take me on this new journey! I am just excited for the women whose lives will be changed through my program.

When you’re not busy working, how are you practicing self-care and pouring into yourself?

I love working out, especially walking, because it gives me such peace. I also love sitting outside and reading. Getting into the Word of God is another way I pour back into myself, along with journaling.

When it comes to women and our women’s community, what would you like to see more of?

I would love to see more women supporting and empowering each other. Letting go of competition and linking arms together for collaboration. There is room for us all at the table.
