Making BOSS Moves with Tanishia!

I would like to introduce you all to Tanishia Bell! She is a HR Consultant and Personal and Professional Development Coach. Recently, I received the opportunity to interview her! Check it out below!

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Nashville, TN. I tried to leave twice, but that didn’t work out (a story for another day).

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

My inspiration came from my parents. My dad has been a successful entrepreneur for over 40 years, and my mom started her business over 20 years ago. It is inspirational to watch both of them live out their dreams and do what they love. So I always say it’s in my blood. But I also wanted to create a place where small businesses have HR support at their fingertips. I wanted to create a space for women with so much on their plate with motherhood, work, and relationships to release the pressure of life and live freely and happily.

Tell us about the work that you do, and what’s your why?

Well, let’s see. I started my HR consulting business six years ago to provide quality HR support for small businesses. I have a heart of service and love working in an industry where the organization is making an impact on someone’s life. Typically, smaller organizations in the service industry will have high turnover or employee situations they are unsure about how to handle. I wanted to be a support for them. Recently, I added coaching to my services. Again, with a heart of service, I want to see every woman be successful and the best version of herself, no matter what that looks like for her. Why can’t we all have the life our hearts desire? I learned through my own self-discovery journey that we can. We are worthy and deserving of it all. We have to do some self-work and eliminate a few roadblocks, and that’s where the coaching comes in. I focus on meeting you where you are to empower your journey through Solutions, Empowerment, and Sparkle. Life can be overwhelming. You may be in a relationship that you should have left a long time ago. You may feel stuck in a job you hate. You don’t know how to set boundaries, and you find yourself constantly saying yes. I know; I was her. I want to give other women tools to find their self-confidence, set boundaries, and find true happiness.

What challenges have you been met with while maneuvering entrepreneurship, and how did you overcome?

Challenges—what challenges? Just kidding, my biggest challenge has been to slow down and focus on building a sustainable business. This is a long-term goal for me. I want TLB to be around after I’m gone. I want to leave a legacy for my family to continue to build on and carry out. So I have to make sure the foundation is correct and that I’m setting my business up for long-term success, not just a right-now thing.

In those moments when it gets hard, how do you manage to keep going?

Prayer keeps me sane. God’s grace and mercy keeps me going even when times get hard. Every morning, I wake up, read a scripture, pray, meditate, and repeat my affirmations before starting my day. I end my day by journaling my thoughts and prayers. I give it all away and trust the process. One of my favorite sayings is, “This too shall pass.”

When it comes to women, our women’s community, what would you like to see more of?

I would like to see women in our community thrive and show up as their best selves EVERY DAY. No matter what that looks like for them.  We are all different, and our differences are what makes us who we are. I want to see us overcome our fears and create a life full of joy.
