I would like to introduce you all to Kendra J! She is a Certified Relational Development & Confidence Coach and the CEO and founder of Kendra J Solutions. Recently, I received the opportunity to interview her! Check it out below!
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Prattville, AL, but I currently reside in Crestview, FL.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurship was an idea I toyed with back in 2019. At the time, I was still on active duty in the Air Force and had just received my life coaching certification, so I went for it. Once I retired in 2022, I decided that helping women become the best versions of themselves was what I wanted to dedicate the next chapter of my life to.
Tell us about the work that you do and what’s your why?
I am a Certified Relational Development and Confidence Coach and the CEO & founder of Kendra J Solutions. I help women struggling to recognize their self-worth by identifying, loving, and accepting their most authentic attributes.
I designed a 90-day program that is dedicated to helping women who are experiencing loss of confidence and low self-esteem due to past trauma, relationships, and/or difficult transitional periods. My program, along with my Walking in Confidence Journal, will help women move from being stuck and fearful to boldly Walking in Confidence.
My why is simple: I was her. I was stripped of my self-esteem and confidence throughout the years and didn’t have an outlet to help me rebuild or rediscover them, which is why I’m dedicated to helping women overcome and have the audacity to be themselves.
What challenges have you been met with while maneuvering entrepreneurship, and how did you overcome?
I started this journey back in 2019, and it has been up and down. The biggest challenge that I have faced to date has been imposter syndrome. If you aren’t aware of imposter syndrome, it’s the feeling of doubt and incompetence coupled with fear.
In 2019, I wasn’t equipped to handle being an entrepreneur; I required validation from others, and I viewed failure as just that: failure. Today, in 2023, I gave myself permission to simply be me. I was qualified before I was ever certified. Now, failures are lessons that I welcome with open arms, and I validate myself by celebrating all victories, no matter how big or small.
In those moments when it gets hard, how do you manage to keep going?
It’s inevitable that hard days will come. You will not always feel motivated or confident. I’m big on reflecting, so what I do is take a mental health day to reflect on my strategy, regroup my thoughts, and refocus my energy.
It’s important that in these moments you rest, but don’t give up!
When it comes to women, our women’s community, what would you like to see more of?
I would like to see more women healing from those things and incidents that strip them of their uniqueness and power. More women unafraid to be authentic versions of themselves. I want to see every woman Walking in Confidence.
